The Short Version
OneStone AI is a desktop application that runs on your machine. Your conversations, memory, contacts, calendar, files, and agent configuration are stored in a local directory on your filesystem. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your personal data.
What Stays on Your Machine
- Conversations — all chat history is stored locally in your OneStone data directory.
- Memory & Knowledge — rules, knowledge entries, and project context are local markdown files.
- Contacts & Calendar — stored locally, never synced to external servers.
- Agent configuration — model preferences, routine definitions, identity files — all local.
- API keys — encrypted with your OS keyring (gnome-keyring on Linux, DPAPI on Windows) and stored locally.
What Leaves Your Machine
When you use OneStone to chat with an AI model, your prompts and conversation context are sent to the AI provider you have configured (Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq, Mistral, Google, or your local Ollama instance). This is necessary for the AI to generate responses. Each provider has its own privacy policy:

If you use the AgentMail email integration, email messages are processed through the AgentMail service. If you use phone pairing, messages are relayed through our relay server during transit (not stored). If you use Ollama as your AI provider, prompts stay entirely on your machine.
This Website
The onestoneai.com website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personal data. It provides aggregate page view and visitor counts only.
We do not use advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or any third-party analytics that collect personal data.
Updates to This Policy
If this policy changes, the update date at the top of the page will reflect the change. Material changes will be noted on the blog.
