What is OneStone AI?
OneStone AI is a free, local-first AI agent desktop platform for Linux and Windows. It gives you a personal AI agent that runs entirely on your own machine — no cloud account, no subscription, no data leaving your computer.
The agent connects to multiple AI providers (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Groq, Mistral, Google Gemini, and local models via Ollama), runs scheduled routines automatically, maintains persistent memory across sessions, handles email through AgentMail, and exposes 100+ tools via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Unlike cloud-hosted AI assistants, OneStone stores all conversations, memory, contacts, and files on your local machine. You own your data — always.
Why Local-First?
Cloud AI platforms require you to trust a third party with your conversations, files, and workflow data. OneStone takes a different approach: the application runs as a desktop app on your machine, and your data directory lives on your local filesystem. AI providers process your prompts (as they must), but your memory, knowledge base, routines, and operational data never leave your control.
This isn't just a privacy choice — it's an architecture choice. Local-first means the agent works offline (with local models), starts instantly, and never depends on a third-party service for its core functionality.

OneStone AI is built by Joey Mantione, a developer focused on AI agent systems, desktop applications, and local-first architecture. Joey builds and operates OneStone as a solo developer — designing the architecture, writing the code, managing releases, and using the system daily as his own primary development tool.
